Description: Coffee Rye Brown Ale - IBU: 29 - This particular cask has been tweaked by adding in a heavy dose of pumpkin spice to fit the theme of the evening. This is our rendition of the American-style Brown Ale. Meris otter, Cara Rye, Chocolate Rye, and Cara Brown were used to yield the rich and chewy malt base. A subtle addition of CTZ and Willamette round out the dryness from the rye. Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company contributed to the creation of this beer as we utilized their "Honduras Single Origin" and “River's Edge Full City Bold", it further amplified the "roast" concept of the Chesapeake Coffee Brown. We used the Japanese Cold Brew Method to add in the coffee flavor, which is brewing high strength coffee directly over ice, locking in all of the flavor and aroma without the acridness or acidity. The end result is a rich and warming experience of a well executed brown while giving the beer drinker a gentle dose of freshly brewed coffee.
