Description: Flanders Red Ale - IBU:10 - Sour, pungent and somewhat over the top to some tame palates; the ever pleasing Jacobins Rouge is a beer for the experienced beer drinker. The vinegar-like tartness you find in the flavor is yielded by brettanomyces, a yeast strain that flavors any ale it touches with a sharp, astringent sour flavor. Its beautiful ruby-crimson body crowned with a heavily carbonated yet stable off-white head. Dark fruits such as figs, dates and sour cherries will attempt to push through in both aroma and flavor...but that dominant sour flavor outlasts anything else that comes in its way.
