Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier

Brewery: Weihenstephaner
Name: Hefeweissbier
Brewery Location: Freising, Germany
ABV: 5.4%
Serving Size: 16oz
Description: Hefeweizen - IBU: 16 - By the Bavarian Purity Law of 1816, no brewery in Germany can produce a beer outside of the 4 main ingredients; water, malt, hops and yeast. To abide by these strict limitations, quality of ingredients are imperative. The overall perspective on the Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier is that it is king amongst a massive, approachable world of the hefeweizens. The opaque, vibrant orange-yellow body is generously topped with a fluffy cloud-like head. Intense aromatics of banana and clove find the nose, acting as an appetizer for the amplified flavor of more banana and clove. Word to the wise however, do not dare ask for a lemon. Our German forefathers would turn in their grave if they saw a piece of fruit on the rim of this glass. Lemon masks the perfected flavor and destroys the head.
